The school year has come to a close and for Brandon School,
our first ART SHOW
was an end-of-the-year hit.
All art shows are a labor of love...countless hours creating the art but an equal amount of hours sorting, selecting, mounting and hanging. At the schools where I teach, the art shows are held indoors in our multi-purpose rooms. They're much smaller than gymnasiums and are meant for assemblies, plays, meetings, etc. The MPR's are our only indoor rooms, with the exception of administration offices and classrooms. This is typical in California where we have no corridors or hallways to pass through. We hang our art on wires that are fixed to the ceilings. This allows us to create little walkways in which to view the art.

Wow- this is great!!!! What a good idea to hang the paper and attach the art to it. I know the kids and parents love this. Good job, you have worked HARD!
Your art show looks wonderful! Before you take it down, could you please try to get a few pictures of how the wires are attached to the ceiling and to the panels of art? I would love to try this. Thanks!!

Already down I'm afraid! The wires are permanently attached to the walls screwed in about 12" from the ceiling. They are professionally installed. The long lengths of paper (art already stapled on) are lifted up and over the wires.)The most time-consuming part of this type of display is attaching the artwork to the lengths of paper. We use long arm staplers.

I love the way you display your students work...I love the paper hanging to make display "walls" in the hallway. Great idea!!!
I have been pretty successful all year by hanging artwork on the wall with masking tape. 2 pieces per work. I am thinking of taping the work to the long butcher paper and then taping the long paper to the walls. Do you think that would work?
